A former police officer has been honoured for serving the community for 43 years.
Brian “Eddy” Edwards, 63, patrolled Halstead and the surrounding villages for eight years as a police community support officer, but was previously a police officer working elsewhere.
Mr Edwards, who lives in Marks Tey, retired last September.
The Halstead Area Crime Prevention Panel presented him with the Peter Garlick Award this week for his service to Halstead.
Mr Edwards was given a trophy and £50, which was donated by Graham and Suzi Cooper of Actfast Locksmiths in Halstead.
The Peter Garlick Award is named after the crime prevention panel's former treasurer.
