Halstead secondary school pupils were recognised for their academic achievement at a special awards ceremony.

Students who left Ramsey Academy, in Colne Road, in the summer were presented with their GCSE certificates and awards for special achievements in particular subjects last Thursday.

Calum Leys, deputy headteacher, said: “The awards were presented by headteacher Rob James and former headteacher Dan Gee, who spoke about the pride the school and the community have in these young people who achieved the best results in the school’s history.

“It was a wonderful evening with staff, students, parents, governors and friends having the opportunity to recognise the achievements of all.”
