Cat suspected of ripping its tongue out in a trap put to sleep
A cat has had its tongue ripped out after allegedly getting it caught in a trap and has had to be put to sleep.
Kristina Ince, who runs Claws and Tails Rehoming and Rescue in Gainsford End, near Toppesfield, took in Mystic in May last year, after the black cat was rescued from a house where she was starved, abused, and left in a dreadful state.
Kristina spent a long time getting her back up to weight, but on November 9, she noticed that something was wrong.
Kristina said: “She came in at night as usual but she seemed dazed.
“I looked in her mouth as she was drooling and thought that something didn’t look quite right."
