A man died after suffering a severe allergic reaction to the drugs used whilst he was undergoing surgery on his wrist.
Grandfather Roger Neep, 60, of Parker Way, Halstead, was admitted to Broomfield Hospital, in Chelmsford, in September last year, but he went into anaphylactic shock shortly into the operation and died two days later in the Intensive Care Unit.
Coroner Eleanor McGann recorded a narrative verdict at an inquest on Tuesday and said the cause of death was anaphylactic shock due to the drugs which had been used during the surgery, as it was unclear which ones had caused the allergic reaction.
His recovery was hampered by his hypertension and coronary artery disease, and these were listed as underlying causes of his death.
