Everyone can get in the spirit of Halloween at a range of events across the Halstead district.

Hedingham Castle’s ghost walk returns to chill the blood and curdle the imagination.

The ghost trail is outside and winds it’s way round the lake and through the woods surrounding the ancient castle, followed by a spine tingling tale told by flickering candlelight.

There may be bats and the walks will take place in all weather conditions, so wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

All bookings must be made in advance, and it is not recommend for those aged under 12 or for people of a nervous disposition or for those with mobility problems.

It runs from Wednesday 29 to Friday 31 at Hedingham Castle, Castle Hedingham from 6pm.

Tickets are £12.50 for adults and £9 for concessions from the castle on hedinghamcastle.co.uk.

Ridgewell Village Hall is holding a children’s Halloween disco in the village hall on Friday 31 from 6.30pm until 8pm.

Admission is for children aged 5-12 and includes drinks and a snack.

They will also be running a carved pumpkin competition for adults and children.

St Andrews Church, Earls Colne, is inviting everyone to wear their best fancy dress and bring a pumpkin along to a special event on Friday 31 from 6pm.

There is also going to be a children’s Halloween disco in White Colne Village Hall also on Friday 31 from 5.30pm until 7pm.

All children must be accompanied by an adult, and there will be entertainment, soft drinks and nibbles, and a fancy dress competition.
