Primary school pupils designed road safety posters which will be displayed around a village.

Children at St. Andrews School in Great Yeldham had a competition to see who could create the most eye catching design.

The winners were Elodie Roper, eight, Ezra Roper, ten, and Kyle Ford, nine.

The competition was based on a suggestion by Essex Police after complaints were made about irresponsible parking and other dangerous driving practices outside the school.

As a result of the competition Great Yeldham Parish Council awarded £250 to the school for educational purposes.

Parish councillor Philip Rawlinson said: “The kids worked very hard on their posters. All three of them are going to be displayed outside the school and they going to go up all around the village as well.”
