A couple are delighted that after a two month battle, their parking fine has been cancelled.

Fiona Shepherd, of Hedingham Road, Halstead, contacted the paper in July after her husband, David, and her neighbour were both left with parking tickets for parking on the grass verge set back from the road close to the junction with Mill Chase.

They have parked there for 20 years but have only recently started to receive fines for doing so.

Mrs Shepherd said: “We are very pleased that it has been cancelled."

A spokesman from NEPP said: “In this case, Mr Shepherd has since provided the North Essex Parking Partnership with sufficient evidence and the PCN has now been cancelled.”
