Coach trips to Halstead could be used to boost tourism.

Business leaders are exploring ways to accommodate sightseers and history buffs attracted by the town’s rich heritage and famous floral displays.

Halstead’s Town Team are planning to arrange coach trips into the town next year for fans of its famous floral displays and have approached a historical society about conducting tours for up to 35 people at a time.

Chairman Dave Gronland said: “We want to encourage people from all over the country to come and see this wonderful town in the summer.

“Yes it’s partly about business, but if it’s good for business then it’s also good for the people.”
