A coroner has recorded an open verdict after the death of a popular member of the community.
Shirley Bragg, 89, was found at her home in Trinity Terrace, Halstead, on July 10 last year.
Her death was not treated as suspicious but a 58-year-old man, of Halstead, was arrested on suspicion of preventing a lawful burial.
However, police announced in March that no further action would be taken against the man.
At Mrs Bragg’s inquest at Chelmsford Coroner’s Court last Tuesday, coroner Mrs Eleanor McGann recorded an open verdict.
