A churchyard has been formally closed- 20 years after it saw its final burial.
The graveyard at St Andrew’s Church, Great Yeldham, has been formally closed by the Ministry of Justice.
The Reverend Barbara Hume said: “There hasn’t been a burial there for a very long time so technically it was closed already.
“I think people thought that it was closed anyway because it was full, but nobody filled out the paperwork until now.”
Reverend Hume said ashes can still be interred and graves reserved for married couples can still be used.
