A teacher is threatening to install cameras on a busy road if drivers continue to run over ducklings.

Julie Winters, 48, moved into Trinity House last year and was pleased to discover a duck’s nest in her garden, to which a female duck travels every year to lay her eggs as she has done for many years.

But Mrs Winters was horrified to learn that the ducklings face a perilous journey after leaving the safety of her garden to get to the park opposite as they have to cross Trinity Street.

Fearful that more ducklings would be killed this year after the mother duck lost six already, Mrs Winters asked Halstead Town Council to install signs outside her house to warn drivers that ducks cross the road.
