A DIY giant hopes to move to a new huge superstore on the outskirts of Braintree – complete with a garden centre, builder’s yard and 255 parking spaces.
If B&Q’s plans to move to a new warehouse on land to the south of Millennium Way near Galley’s Corner roundabout are given the go-ahead, the existing store at Braintree Retail Park will close.
The new store will sell twice the amount of goods.
Brenda Baker, chairman at Braintree Chamber of Trade and Commerce, said: “Our B&Q wouldn’t suffer from being bigger.”
