Helions Bumpstead Village Hall could be powered by solar energy if their planning application is approved.
The parish council, who own the hall, in Mill Road, have applied for permission to install 39 solar panels on the roof of the hall, which used to be a school, in three rows, and they will provide electricity to heat and light the building.
The panels will only be visible from the hall’s car park and the recreation ground, according to the council.
