Wool shop closes in Halstead

First published in News

Trade has ceased at a popular wool and habadashery shop.

Loving Stitches opened in 2010 in Weavers Court, Halstead, but closed its doors for the last time on Saturday, citing poor trade as the reason for the closure.

Last month, owner Elaine Lunn, 53, warned that the shop might have to close as she struggled to make her rent payments.

Her daughter, 17-year-old Connie, who worked part time in the shop, said: “There is a lack of trade in the town and sadly we have had to close."
