A woman has blasted a decision to suddenly start fining people for parking where they parked for more than 20 years.
Fiona Shepherd, of Hedingham Road, has parked on a grass verge set back from the road close to the turning of Mill Chase from Hedingham Road since she has lived in the house and, as her house has no parking, has parked on a piece of land close to her house.
The carer said: “We were previously told that because the ownership of that land was under dispute we could park there without being fined. My neighbours and I have parked there for more than 20 years without receiving a ticket.”
