A parish council is considering buying a field to protect it for the future.
Toppesfield Parish Council is looking into the logistics of buying the land, currently used for farming, behind the Green Man pub and shop in the village.
Councillor Alan Collard explained: “The field has been put up for sale by its owner.
“The Parish Council was approached by some parishioners who requested that we looked into buying the field.
“Some were concerned what would happen to the field, including some worries that it might be turned into housing, and wanted us to look into purchasing it to protect it."
