Healing giant created in Arran's memory

Halstead Gazette: Healing giant created in Arran's memory Healing giant created in Arran's memory

A schoolboy's tragic death has inspired the creation of a gentle giant designed to teach children about the importance of nature.

The Friends of Molly’s Wood community group dug the man-shaped herb garden in their orchard in Hull’s Mill and filled it with herbs that treat each area of the body.

The giant was masterminded by Friends of Molly’s Wood member Giles Bryant who was “spurred on” by his memory of Arran Tosh, a former pupil of his, who died suddenly from a brain tumour in June.

Mr Bryant, who taught Arran Health and Wellbeing for three years at Great Yeldham Primary school, said: “This project was my personal dedication to Arran.

"He was an incredible boy, he touched people’s lives with his light and he was an inspiration."
