Youngsters were given a chance to show off their sporting skills when Earls Colne Cricket Club staged a family evening as part of their cricket week.
More than 70 people joined in the evening and games of kwik cricket last Wednesday evening.
Secretary John Perfect said: “It provided a splendid opportunity for youngsters to learn more about the game and gave parents an opportunity to see how kwik cricket helps them develop the sport.”
Earls Colne introduced the cricket week last year to mark 175 years of the game being played in the village.
During this year’s event, Colne lost to Wine Trade XI in an all day game after the visitors declared at 257-7. But Colne chalked up a convincing victory over a team of former members, “the Legends”, in a 20/20 game.
