A man has had his commitment to a school recognised in laying a foundation stone.

Tom Dale, 82, first attended Gosfield Independent School, Cut Hedge Park, Halstead Road, Gosfield in 1942 when he was 11 and has since remained a tremendous supporter of the school ever since.

Mr Dale has laid the foundation stone of the school’s new £1.2 million Prep School development, due to be completed by the end of 2014 in time for the school’s 100 pre prep and prep pupils to move into at the start of next year’s spring term.
