The Colne Valley railway is celebrating the major part it played in the war effort at an open day.
During the Second World War, the line played a crucial transportation role as it delivered bombs and ammunition from factories in the Midlands to local airfields such as those at Ridgewell, Gosfield and Earls Colne.
On Sunday, the railway will hold a special event with evacuation trains, bomb trains, military vehicles and staff in period costumes from 10.30am until 5pm, with last admission at 3.30pm.
Alongside the special entertainment, there will also be the miniature railway, garden railway, signalbox and woodland walk to discover.
Tickets cost £9 for adults, £7 for seniors, £5 for children, or family tickets for two adults and up to three children cost £28. Dogs are welcome to join the fun and tickets for them cost £2.
