Two men fled the scene of a crash after their silver Ford Fiesta struck a telegraph pole in Panfield Lane.
The crash which happened shortly before 6am near Flanders Close also destroyed a garden wall after the car lost control and came off the road.
An Essex Police spokesman confirmed that two male occupants were taken to Broomfield Hospital by paramedics after sustaining various minor injuries.
Two other male occupants ran away from the car and were spoken to by police later that morning at their homes in Halstead.
UK Power Networks attended the scene to carry out repairs shortly after 6.30am and power was cut off for nearly an hour.
