A man who went to A&E four times before doctors spotted his brain tumour has said young people with severe headaches must be taken more seriously.
Sam Benson, 20, of Vicarage Meadow, Halstead, was told his symptoms were not serious enough for a brain scan when he visited Colchester General Hospital in May and June last year.
Mr Benson said: “I am annoyed that because I am a young person doctors were passing it off as just headaches.
“The pain I was suffering was unbearable because of the swelling pressing against my skull.
“I just think that if I was maybe 10 years older they would have looked into me a bit more.”
