A fundraising event is seeking to raise as much money as possible for a young girl.

Millie Brown, 5, has an inoperable brain tumour, and her community are rallying around her to raise as much money as possible for her so that she can fulfil all her wishes.

A funday has been organised in Sible Hedingham with all proceeds going to the Magical Millie Fund.

The event will take place on June 28 from 12 noon until 6pm on Lawn Meadow, Sible Hedingham, and there will be a raffle, with prizes including EasyJet flights, a bouncy castle, face painting, a fire engine, a tombola, a coconut shy, name the toy, and much more.

There will also be football matches between players past and present of Hedinghams All Stars and the Blitz Fit Me team.

So far, over £25,000 has been raised for the fund and Millie is going to Disneyland with her family after her MRI scan on July 7. All the rest of the money raised will go towards other trips out and weekends away for Millie and her family.

Any money left over will go to help other children who have also been affected by brain stem tumours.

A previous event in Halstead in May raised over £8,000 for Millie and it is hoped that this one will raise as much.

Emma Mead, who organised the event, said: “We would love to raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.

“Although Millie and her family now live in Halstead, they do have connections to Sible Hedingham and we really want to make a community event to raise money for her.”

Entrance is £2.50 with children going free.
