A teenager is flying high after winning a gliding national championship class.
Alex Harris, 17, won the sport class at the British National Glider Aerobatics Championships on his first attempt in May.
Paul Bott, also of the Ashen Glider Club, Ashen, came fourth in the class.
Alex, of Tilbury-Juxta-Clare, only qualified to fly solo less than two years ago, and was the youngest person in the UK to hold his license.
