A consultation on plans for the extraction of sand and gravel in Bradwell is currently taking place.
Essex County Council has received an application for the extraction of 3million tonnes of sand and gravel by Blackwater Aggregates at Bradwell Quarry in Church Road.
The plan includes retention of the existing access onto the A120, private haul road, a sand and gravel processing plant, ready mixed concrete plant, bagging plant, dry silo mortar plant, management systems and internal haul roads.
Restoration plans include re-contouring the land, with the inclusion of agriculture, woodland and lagoons.
Braintree Council along with Bradwell, Coggeshall, Kelvedon and Silver End parish councils are all being consulted on the application.
