House fire cats all safe and sound

A man left devastated by a fire is pleased that his cats have returned safe and sound.

The fire in the house in Shellcroft, Colne Engaine last Wednesday, spread to the house owned by Neil Yeo, 50.

Mr Yeo was at work at the time, but his three cats, Penny, Sue and Dillon were trapped inside.

Thankfully, two local heroes Sam Blackwell, 33, and Alex Grimshaw, 21, broke into his house and the cats were all able to escape.

Mr Yeo, an engineer, said: “I was so worried about my cats when I heard about the fire and I am so grateful to the guys for doing what they did."
