There is a whole host of train fun at the Colne Valley Railway this bank holiday weekend and May half term.
Saturday sees women taking over all the running of the railway, from driving the trains to operating the signals with £1 from every full price admission going to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
On Sunday, there is a special miniature engineering day, with displays of Meccanno, working models of miniature engines and steam and diesel trains operating.
Bring a cuddily toy and enjoy a day on a steam train with Colin the Bear on Wednesday.
Colne Valley Railway, Castle Hedingham, is holding a “Steam with Colin” day, where children can meet Colin, the railway’s bear, and take part in a treasure hunt.
Children who bring a teddy or cuddly toy to see Colin will receive half price entry on this day only.
Entrance includes access to all the other attractions at the heritage railway, such as a miniature railway, shop and woodland walk.
Events start on each day at 10.30am and finish at 4.30pm. Tickets are £9, £7 for seniors and £5 for children (£2.50 for children on the Wednesday if they bring a cuddily toy). Dogs are £2.
