A man suffered serious leg injuries in a crash between Earls Colne and Halstead involving a car and a truck.
Police, paramedics and fire crews from Halstead and Colchester were called to the A1124, Stonebridge Hill, between Colchester Road, Halstead, and Station Road, Earls Colne, shortly after 4.10pm yesterday.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed a man in his 20s was treated for serious leg injuries and was flown to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge after being cut free by fire crews.
A second casualty was referred to as “walking wounded” and was taken to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment.
A response car, two ambulances, paramedic officer and the Essex Air Ambulance were all dispatched to the scene.
The road was closed in both directions.
