More than 500 people visited Great Yeldham Transport Museum as it opened its doors to the public.

The museum, on the village’s Hunnable Industrial Estate, hosted an open day yesterday.

As part of the event, Braintree and Halstead Model Railway Club, based in the former Second World War hanger at the site, also staged a toy and train collectables fair.

Some 40 stalls gave people plenty to view and buy.

Vintage buses, classic cars, train carriages and military vehicles were all on display, and open top bus rides were available.
