A semi-retired farm worker is urging others to be on their guard after falling victim to bank card thieves.

Brazen thieves distracted Peter Summers at a cashpoint while he withdrew money.

They later tried to withdraw £9,000 and succeeded in obtaining more than £5,000.

The father-of-six said: “Within the time it took me to get home they’d tried to take out £9,000.

“I’ve always worked for my money so it makes you sick when someone comes along like that and virtually takes the lot.”
