Halstead's young farmers are bidding for chart success after playing a massive part in the release of a charity single.
Essex Young Farmers hope their song, Put That Hoedown, will reach the UK Top 40 for the weekend of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Club Annual Convention in Blackpool from May 9-11.
Halstead Young Farmers played a key role in the project.
It was written and produced with the help of music production company Audio Network, whose co-founder, Andrew Sunnucks, is from Little Maplestead and has a daughter, Emma, who is a member of Halstead Young Farmers.
Lauren Kent, 21, of Rayner Way, Halstead, is also one of four main vocalists on the track, while the video was shot last month at locations including Home Farm, in Colne Engaine, and the famous Abbey Road Studios, in London.
