A family left devastated after their young daughter was given just a year to live have thanked the community for their “incredible” support.

Four-year-old Millie Brown, of Halstead, has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain stem tumour.

Doctors hope a course of radiotherapy may help prolong her life, while the people of Halstead have begun raising money for trips and treats to ensure her final months are as happy as possible.

Mum Lisa Stock said: “We only lost my dad five or six weeks ago and it was hard enough to bury him and he was 64.

“Now to think in ten months we might have to be burying my four-year-old, we don’t want to think about it. It’s heartbreaking.”
