As pregnant Natasha Corrigan lay in a hospital bed, her family were warned that mother and baby may not survive.

Natasha, of Witham, has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) which means she has joint problems, intestinal failure, a bladder three times bigger than normal, bruises easily and suffers with skin tears.

She was being fed with a tube directly to the main blood vessel of her heart at the time of her pregnancy because of the EDS and due to the low immune system that the pregnancy caused, she developed two life-threatening deadly infections.

Natasha said: “They put me to sleep and did a c-section four weeks early.

“It’s quite amazing that we both managed to get through it."

Baby Isabella Jackson, who is now 1.5 years old, and her mum were able to go home after just four weeks.

The miracle birth has also inspired Natasha to live life to the full when it comes to her passion for singing and she is taking part in the Essex Factor.
