A convoy of military vehicles passed through Halstead as campaigners made one last call to arms in their quest to save two town centre sites from development.
The vehicles travelled through High Street before stopping at the car park of The Griffin Pub, in Parsonage Street.
The organisers, Halstead 21st Century Group and a team of residents from New Street, are campaigning to prevent development on land east of High Street and a picnic field area behind the former senior citizens’ centre in New Street.
The convoy was arranged to emphasise the links between both sites and the Second World War.
