A series of events across Halstead are being planned to mark the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War.
Church services, a band performance and a poppy fall display are among the events being organised.
The commemoration will take place in the days leading up to August 4, the date Britain declared war on Germany in 1914.
Halstead’s Royal British Legion (RBL) branch is leading preparations and has held meetings with Halstead Town Council and other organisations.
