Green-fingered volunteers are eyeing more success as this year’s Anglia in Bloom officially gets underway.

Halstead in Bloom have won gold awards and best town in the annual competition every year since 2009, as well as enjoying numerous triumphs in RHS Britain in Bloom.

Last year, they also received the gold award in the Champion of Champions category in Britain in Bloom.

But the team, who sent nine representatives to yesterday’s Anglia in Bloom launch in Attleborough, Norfolk, are far from done and are determined to achieve further success this time around.

As part of this year’s campaign, a new flower bed will be created at Halstead Leisure Centre, in Colne Road, sponsored by Halstead Road Runners.

Halstead Public Gardens, the W.I. Garden in The Centre, Ramsey Academy and Richard de Clare Primary School are also included in a provisional route for the Anglia in Bloom judges, who usually visit during July.
