An iconic band will stop off in Halstead as part of a spring tour.

Featuring original founding members Bev Bevan and Trevor Burton, The Move from Birmingham was one of the leading British rock bands of the 1960s, scoring nine Top 20 UK singles in five years.

Significantly the band played on Radio 1 and without The Move there would be no Electric Light Orchestra.

They often performed with the likes of Cream, The Who, The Rolling Stones and in 1968 toured the UK with Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd.

Following the tragic loss of Move lead vocalist Carl Wayne to cancer in 2004, Bev and Trevor agreed to recreate the magic of the band and bring their music to a new generation of fans.

The Move will appear at the Empire Theatre, in Butler Road, Halstead on April 6, featuring original members Trevor Burton and Bev Bevan plus Phil Tree of Wizzard and Tony Kelsey.

The show will start at 7pm for 7.30pm, and tickets are tickets £15.

Tickets are available by calling the theatre box office on 07778 025490 between 12noon and 10.00pm daily or by visiting empire-theatre.co.uk
