Children dug up the past with a special fossil and science event today.
Braintree District Museum played host to the activity session, which saw about 40 fascinated youngsters come face to face with animal skulls and imprints of long gone creatures.
Museum research and collections officer Jenny Brown said: “The children were really engaged.
“There were lots of experiments and things to touch.
“We tried to make it as hands on as possible and we would definitely like to do it again.”
