Hopeful Scouts are working together to raise money so they can attend a Jamboree.

24 youngsters, from the Halstead and Colne Valley groups, and their leaders have been working hard to raise the £10,000 needed for them all to attend the 2014 Canadian Jamboree, in Newfoundland.

The 14-day adventure will include hiking, white water rafting and a host of other exciting activities for the group to enjoy.

So far, they have managed to raise nearly £5,000 by bag-packing for shoppers in Sainsbury’s, holding an “It’s a knockout” competition, holding a car wash and organising a race night at the Earls Colne Scout Hut.

But they still need to raise the rest of the total in order for them to attend so will be holding a table top sale in a bid to boost their funds on March 16 at the Scout Hut, in Station Road, between 10am and 12noon.

Stalls will include clothes, toys, books, bric-a-brac and refreshments.

There will be free parking and free entry.
