For most young football fans, the chance to be a team mascot will be a treasured memory for years to come.
But Charlie Benterman is unlikely to remember his day in the limelight, because he is only seven weeks old.
Baby Charlie, son of Halstead Town manager Mark, took pride of place in the centre circle for last Saturday’s home match against Swaffham Town.
Mark, 32, said: “Being manager, the club asked if he could be mascot for one game, and this was a huge game for the club.”
