Police are warning residents to be on their guard after a string of burglaries.
Thousands of pounds worth of jewellery, cash and electronics have been stolen during the break-ins, which have mainly happened during the day.
Among the victims have been Halstead paramedic Neil Smith, whose home was raided while he was out on a 999 call.
Sgt Dave Wright believes the burglars are travelling in from outside the area, with many of the targeted homes close to the A131.
