At nearly £3million, could this plush pad attract royalty or a filmstar to the Braintree district?
The Old Rectory is currently the most expensive property on the market in the district and it is being sold through high end estate agents Chewton Rose, of Colchester.
The impressive historic home was built in 1840 for the son of the Bullock family, who lived at nearby stately home Faulkbourne Hall.
He was the second son and was planning to go into the church.
But when his older brother was killed at war, he took on the title of Lord of the Manor and never moved into the house.
The property was kept by Faulkbourne Hall until the 1980s and has been on the market for just a couple of months.
