Pensioners are calling for a crossing on a busy stretch of road after a near miss with a car.

Friends Jill Jackson and Nelly Plumb were crossing Swan Street in Sible Hedingham last Friday when they claim they came face-to-face with a car.

There is already one crossing further up the road, but the pair believe another is needed nearer to Hilton House Surgery and Forest Home residential care home.

They were crossing the street and they came face to face with a car??!!

I mean if they had come face to face with a bluddy lion or hippopotamus then perhaps that might have been news - but a car? Good grief, there's loads of them about all the time.
