CQC set to revisit Colchester Hospital Trust

Halstead Gazette: CQC set to revisit Colchester Hospital Trust CQC set to revisit Colchester Hospital Trust

INSPECTORS have announced they will visit Colchester’s hospital trust between April and June this year.

The Care Quality Commission will scrutinise Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust and 19 other health trusts over the three month period.

CQC published the list as part of a new model it has adopted for inspections.

Trusts were selected for a range of reasons, including some inspected under the Keogh review for a follow-up inspection while other trusts were chosen as they are judged to have a higher level of risk of providing poor care.

A family member just came home after 3 nights in Colchester General Hospital. Very good treatment, no complaints at all.

Surely the idea is for inspectors to turn up unannounced so they see the real situation, not an artificial one where the hospital will now ensure all is OK during the period April -June.

From personal experience the hospital has always provided an excellent service

Exactly, so they will run around with the hoover and duster then all back to normal when they have gone. I have tried speaking with the CQC, it was a waste of time! You are considered a nuisance for asking someone to do their job well!
