A council will secure hundreds of thousands of pounds of income if it agrees a long-term lease for a telecoms mast.
The mast at the Courtauld Sports Ground, in Colchester Road, Halstead, has been in place since 1997, when Halstead Town Council signed an agreement with O2.
But the original lease, which is currently worth £6,612 per year to the council, is due to expire.
The mast’s current operator, Cornerstone Telecommunication Infrastructure (CTI), is proposing a 25-year lease at reduced rent of £6,000 per year.
