Nine flooding ‘hotspots’ have been identified as priorities for emergency funding.
Essex County Council (ECC) announced earlier this month it was making £1million available to tackle road flooding across the county.
It asked the county’s 12 districts to each identify the worst flooding areas on its roads.
Braintree Council has submitted nine areas, including the A120 in Bradwell, where flood water blocked the carriageway in both directions on February 7.
Other priority areas include Leather Lane in Great Yeldham, where drivers were forced to turn round two weeks ago as flooding made the road unpassable.
