Three men arrested after a man was allegedly slashed with a weapon in Halstead have been rebailed.

The incident happened outside Friends Chinese restaurant and takeaway, in High Street, at about 11.30pm on November 29.

An Essex Police spokesman said officers were called to “reports of people fighting with weapons”.

A 21-year-old Halstead man had a deep cut to his shoulder and was taken by ambulance to Colchester General Hospital.

The injury was described as serious but not life-threatening.

A 47-year-old man from Croydon, south London, and a 48-year-old man, of no fixed address, were both arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon.

A 28-year-old man from Sudbury was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

All three have now been rebailed until February 27.
