Extra money for hospital bus shelter welcomed
Elderly residents and hospital users have welcomed the likely arrival of a new bus shelter.
Essex County Council (ECC) wants to move a bus stop in Hedingham Road, Halstead, from a narrow path to closer to the entrance of Halstead Hospital.
Proposals to allocate an extra £3,500 to build a shelter for the stop were voted on by the Braintree district local highways panel last week.
A total of £10,000 had been allocated to the scheme last year to pay for relocating the stop and installing raised kerbs.
