A favourite fairytale will be brought to life on stage by a local theatre group this month.

Little Red Riding Hood will be running at The Empire Theatre, in Halstead, from January 24.

The adaptation of the classic tale will be performed by The Stane Street Players, a local Amateur Dramatic Society for Earls Colne and Halstead.

The production, which was written by Kate Evans and directed by Andrew Barton, will thrill both young and old alike as Little Red Riding Hood is captured by and tries to escape from The Big Bad Wolf.

The pantomime will run until January 26, with the Friday performance beginning at 7:30pm, shows being held on the Saturday at 2.30pm and 6.30pm and on the Sunday at 6.30pm. Doors open half an hour before each show start time.
