A stained glass window designed by a schoolboy has been unveiled at a church.
The original window at St Andrew's Church, in Church Road, Great Yeldham, was vandalised in 2009, sparking a huge fundraising campaign and a competition for pupils at the village’s St Andrew’s Primary School.
Youngsters were tasked with coming up with a new design, depicting Jesus as a shepherd boy.
A judging panel including former headteacher Maria Trappitt and the church’s previous rector, Revd Keith Holloway, eventually chose a design by Callum Tabin as the winner.
After years of fundraising and discussions over the finer details, the £3,000 window was unveiled during the school’s carol service at the church.
